Breath of Spring Hat

This hat matches the Breath of Spring Scarf.  The pattern is very easy and quick to work up.  This pattern is for Toddler size, Toddler-age 3.  I will be working *at least* a child size hat in this style. I can't wait to get some pictures of my daughter in one of these hats!

Airy Breath of Spring Scarf

I bought some yarn, not knowing what I was going to make with it.  I just loved the color.  The yarn is Hobby Lobby's "I love this yarn" in the color Peacock.  I don't think the photos do this color justice.  It is probably my new favorite color.
With no real plan in mind, I just picked up my hook and started playing around.  I ended up with this scarf.  I think it is perfect for Spring.

I used about half the skein for the scarf.  I think I will be making a matching hat, tonight.  :)
The toddler hat is finished!  You can check it out HERE!

Round Dishcloth/Washcloth Pattern

So, this is what I was in the process of making when I made the Face cleansing pads.  I was going for a dishcloth.  I love the texture on this dish cloth, it makes some of the scrubbing easier!
When I finished the first one, my daughter asked to use the new "washcloth" in her bath.  Huh, what do you know, 2 projects in one!  I am going to make some cute girly colored ones for her and some more boyish colors for my son.
The finished size is approx 7 inches.  You can easily make this as large as you would like.  Just keep increasing the number of stitches (by 1) between your increases, for each additional row.

Facial Cleansing Pads Pattern

Finally, a little something for myself.  I don't know about you, but most of everything I crochet is for someone else.  This is one of those patterns that just kind of...happened.  I was actually making something else (similar), but got distracted (kids).  When I came back to my work I realized I could use what I had already made, for myself.  (make one get one free?)  Go me!
These little pads measure approx 4 inches across and work up in about 10 minutes.  I am already thinking ahead to Christmas.  Wouldn't these make great stocking stuffers?!  They would be great in a little care package for someone, too.  Maybe a "pamper yourself" package.  Hey, that gives me a few ideas!......
Ok to the pattern...

Game Day Kozie

I don't know about you, but I love football.  Every Sunday around here is "Football Sunday".  I am a huge Bears fan so, the playoffs this year, yeah not so exciting.  Though, I did enjoy watching the last Packers game ;)  My husband is a Patriots fan, so I have kind of adopted them as my second team.
We are planning kind of a big Sunday around here here and I decided to whip something up for my beverage(s).
A game day Kozie.  Of course this Kozie could be made in any team colors and for any sport.  As a matter of fact, I have a few ideas bouncing around in my head.
Not only does this Kozie fit a bottle, it also fits a can.  Great for beer, soda, or anything else that you may enjoy.

Valentine Envelope

Each year I give my kids a little something for Valentine's Day.  This year I decided to crochet them a little envelope to hold their goodies.  Why buy a small gift bag when I can give them something handmade?!  How cute is this?!

Water bottle Kozie pattern

This is one of the items that I have been making since I started to crochet.  It is also one of the first items that I made without a pattern.  Our Kozies get a lot of use in the Spring and Summer months.
There are TONS of ways you can change the Kozies up.  With Spring right around the corner, you could crochet a few of my 3-layer flowers!  That would be really cute!  The free pattern for the flower can be found here
I will post some additional Kozie ideas in a later post.  :)

Ribbed Beanie

I have been busy with my hook, these last few days.  It really feels good to be getting some work done!  This hat was fun to make and turned out really nice.  I only wish my daughter would have stayed still long enough for me to snap a picture.  :)

Valentine's Day coffee kozie

Jazz up your morning coffee with a Valentine's day kozie!  Who says Valentine's day items have to be red or pink.  I am LOVING the black and aqua combo, lately.

Simple Crochet Heart

This pattern can be adjusted in countless ways.  You can change the size of the stitches you use and/or you can change the hook size you use.  You can even switch the size of yarn.  Anything from crochet thread to the thickest yarn!  The hearts would make an adorable garland, they look great on hats, they make a cute applique, you can even make a valentine with them.  I have used this heart on my water bottle Kozies, too!
The heart made with the I hook, dc's and hdc's measures about 1 1/2 inches wide.
Sorry about the quality of the photo, the lighting in here is terrible at night!

First pattern of the new year!

I. am. back!!!  It has been a longer break than I had intended, but a much needed break.  Things got crazy around here for the Holidays.  We went back home for Christmas and we were there for a week.  After we got back from vacation, my son still had another whole week off from school.  YAY!  I love having him home.
Now that the Holidays are over, I am getting back into the swing of things.  Last night I wrote up 3 patterns and I still have so many ideas swimming in my head.  I can't wait to get them all worked up!
The first pattern that I am posting is for a newborn hat.  It is made with Homespun yarn.  I use to hate working with Homespun, but have found the love for it.  I can't get enough of homespun!
This hat works up SO quickly!  I can work it up from start to finish in about 30 minutes.
