Basic Newborn Beanie Crochet Pattern

This pattern can be embellished a bunch of different ways.  You can add ears for animal hats, custom color brims, attach a flower (or any kind of applique), add a pom or two, or just make it a single color.

    1. They are approx 6 inches across (12 inch circumference) and approx 6ish inches from crown to brim.
It will depend on your yarn and your gauge. If you crochet tightly it may be a bit smaller. I crochet kind of on the loose end.

    1. The yarn needle is to sew in your ends. Some people (and me most of the time) will just use their hook to weave in the ends.

For the edging on the hat pictured, I did the last last round in red and then did a round reverse sc.

    1. Yes. You work the stitch like a single crochet, except you work from left to right.

    2. Unless you're left handed, then you would work it right to left.

    3. Typically, yes, you work right to left, when crocheting right handed...However, when working a reverse sc (crab stitch) you work in the opposite direction. :)
