I find that cotton works best for Kozies, though there are some great colors out there that I just can't get in cotton. This first Kozie is made of cotton. I love the purples and greens!

What you will need:
H hook
F hook (for flower, optional)
Worsted weight yarn
Yarn needle
Abbreviations:
Ch - Chain
Hdc - Half double crochet
Rsc - Reverse single crochet
Sl st- slip stitch
St - stitch
Special stitch:
Reverse single crochet (rsc): Working left to right, work single crochet into last stitch worked.
Ch 28
Sl st to first ch to form ring. Do not twist.
Round 1: Ch 1, hdc each ch around. (28 hdc)
Round 2-4: Repeat round 1
Round 5: Ch 1, [hdc in next 13 st, 2 hdc in next st.] Repeat 1 more time. (30 hdc)
Round 6: Ch 1, hdc in each st around. (30 hdc)
Round 7: Ch 1, rsc in each st around. (30 rsc)
Fasten off.
Flip your work over to work around the bottom of the Kozie.
Join yarn with a sl st to the chain row.
Ch 1, rsc in each chain around. Sl st to first rsc. (28 rsc)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

F hook
Ch 5 sl st to first ch to make ring.
Round 1: Ch1 sc into ring, ch 5, sc into ring. (formed first petal space) [ch 5, sc into ring] repeat 3 more times for a total of 5 petal spaces. Sl st into ch 1 at the beginning of the round.
Round 2: [sc into petal space, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1, sc.] All into first petal space.
Repeat in each petal space around. Sl st into first sc.
5 front petals made.
Round 3: ch 1, working from the back of the flower, sc around post between petals. [Ch 5, sc around next post between petals] repeat 4 more times for a total of 5 petal spaces. Sl st into first sc.
Round 4: [sc into petal space, ch 1, 5 dc, ch 1, sc] All into first petal space.
Repeat in each petal space around. Sl st into first sc.
5 back petals made.
Finish of leaving a tail about 12 inches long.
Sew flower to the front of the sleeve.
Finish off and weave in ends.
