Tissue Box Kozie

School is almost back in session and that can mean only one thing....Autumn is around the corner!  Maybe that fact will make it easier to crochet in 100+ degree temps.
In celebration of Autumn's return being just around the corner, I made something pumpkin themed.  :)
This Tissue Box Kozie works up really quickly.  It is a great item for decorating your desk without taking up any extra space.

What you will need:
H hook
Ww yarn (orange and green)
Scissors
Yarn needle


Abbreviations:
Hdc-half double crochet
Ch-chain
Blo-back loop only
Sc-single crochet
Scdec-single crochet decrease
Dc-double crochet
St/st’s-stitch/stitches
Sl st-slip stitch


Starting with orange
Ch 31
Row 1: Hdc in second ch from hook and each ch across. (30hdc) Ch 1, turn.
You will be working in the BLO for the remaining rows.
Row 2-34: Hdc in the back loop of first st and each st across. (30hdc) Ch 1, turn.

After finishing last row, join the last row and first row together with a sl st.  Fasten off

You will want your Kozie to fit snuggly around the box.  The bottom should wrap slighting around the bottom of the box.

For top of Kozie:
Join green to any stitch on the top of the Kozie.
Ch 1
As evenly as possible, 1 sc in next 2 st’s, 1 scdec next 2 stitches together.  Repeat around.  Join with sl st to first sc.
Fasten off.



Vine:
Using green
Ch 20
Dc in 3rd ch from hook, 2 dc in same st.
3 dc in each ch across.  Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Attach your vine to the top of the Kozie.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
